Diamonds in the Rough!

In my ever ending quest to free up the timeline from #followfridays, I’m going to try something new.  In the past, I’ve recommended fellow tweeters and that went over well but now I’d like to focus on bloggers.

Each week I’m going to recommend a blog that I like to read.  I’ll include a small segment of one of their posts so you can see for yourself (don’t worry I’ll always ask permission first).  In addition, I’ve added a linky so you can recommend others and feel free to recommend yourself.  For the most part I’ll be recommending the smaller lesser known jewels!  They may not be in the Top 100 or a MAD finalist but worth a read.

Feel free to do something similar…but do let me know so I can link back to you!

Without further adieu, may I introduce @urbanvox…..

Cyber Bitching Through the Eyes of a Guy

No???? Well we don’t get it… I mean we all love a bit of a squabble once in a while just as much as the next guy… But we simple don’t get it.

Well… I don’t get it…

For me blogging is all about the fun and the sharing and yeah… I like the attention it provides just as much as the next blogger. We ALL have this bit of a voyeuristic tendency to expose ourselves to the world out there… Or we wouldn’t be blogging in the first place.

I tend to always say what I think… Sometimes without filtering it first… And I tend to stand by what I said if I really believe into it.

I think I’ve been lucky so far… I’ve never been cyber bitched… at least as far as I know… Then again I tend to ignore squabbles and babbles. Grandma is a really wise woman. She tells me all the the time: “if one doesn’t want to, then two won’t fight”.  Read more…..

Do you have any blogs that you would like to share?  Please do add them to the Linky below.

Funky Friday Give Away Entry!

I was a bit worried that I wasn’t going to be able to enter Noble Savage’s Funky Friday Give-Away for the chance to win Old school, vintage Sesame Street (select episodes from 1974-79) on DVD as all my photos of me growing up in the 70s are back in Canada.  But, then I remembered my aunt had sent me this photo a while back.  She’d just worked out how to use a scanner.

That’s me front row centre with the dodgy haircut, cheesy grin, and blue polka-dot polyester dress! I can still remember how it felt against my skin.   That’s my sister on the left with the matching dress but minus teeth!  My mum was always dressing us the same.  I don’t know exactly when the picture was taken but I’m guessing it was about 1976.  Check out the curtains in the background!

I grew up on Sesame Street and would love for my daughter to be able to experience the real Sesame Street and not this CGI crap!

And if that fails to impress here is a photo of me dressed up as Anni-Frid Lyngstad on my 27th Birthday!
