It’s all Fenugreek to me!

Eh-vree time, I try a new recipe it always calls for some obscure (well obscure to me) spice that I don’t have in the cupboard so I toodle of to Sainsbury’s and buy it.  This has led to a cupboard with 25+ spices in it.  I’m sure there are doubles, possibly triples, but I haven’t bothered sorting them.

What makes it worse is every time I need a spice I now have to empty out the entire contents of the cupboard as the one I want is always at the very back.  This is one of pet hates.

So, I’ve decided to do something about it.  I don’t have any counter top space for a spice rack, or a space to hang one on the wall, nor do I have space to position one inside of a cupboard.  So, I have decided to go for magnetic spice jars and stick them to the cooker hood.  It was a bit of a challenge, but I eventually found some at Sainsbury’s £6 for a pack of 9.

What do you think?

And if you’ve never seen Michael McIntyre’s routine on his spice cupboard you have to!  It’s a scream!

Just wanted to say thank you (& Michael McIntyre) for making me laugh this afternoon…..I’ve not had a great day but that’s really cheered me up…..I might get the 5 spice out tonight now, I like its arrogance!

Love the clip – so true

Very jealous of your spice idea – think i might need to do that (slight issue is that I wasn't going to have an extractor fan in the new kitchen…. not that we can afford it quite yet) – oh need to go and find those jars!

I LOVE that idea *stores in brain for future kitchen renovations*
The only thing that would worry me is identifying them all (can just about do turmeric and corriander seeds…)

Just hope they don’t stop dropping on the floor.

50% off on the Sainsbury’s website…they also come with a magnetic plate if you don’t have a hood. I’ve also seen people stick them on the fridge???
