How to Remove Crayon

Bloody Hell!  I can’t believe it worked!  Madame had drawn on not 1 but 5 of our painted walls with not just any old crayon, but a heavy duty extra greasy whiteboard one!  I tried baby wipes but they didn’t work.  A few people on twitter suggested using WD 40.

I did think they were insane but tried it and it came off in a breeze, very little elbow grease required.  Sprayed a bit on, wiped, then sprayed a bit more if it didn’t come off.  I had all the walls clean in less than 10 minutes!  However, I’m a bit stoned from the fumes!

Please note:  It didn’t change the colour of the walls.  The photos were take on different days.

Make sure Madame doesn’t smoke in there for a bit

Good to know! Bubble is a horror for drawing on walls and doors. Luckily, he *usually* does it with chalk.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with felt tips or paint! I did try!

No idea about blue tack but I know a school that wasn’t allowed to use it and used toothepaste instead????

Wow! I’d never have thought of that, and I think you’re brave for testing it. I shall tuck that gem away until I need it in the future :)

There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity! ;-)

Ooh, ooh, ooh…. Wonder if we have any in the basement. If not, will have to go buy some tomorrow. In my rearranging of the living room I uncovered what was Rosemary’s den and there is a little corner with a large amount of crayon on. Shall definitely try it out, because I was thinking repainting was the only solution and we painted 9 years ago so no way would we get the same colour so would have to do the whole room. Or do a mini floral mural in that corner. Or something. Your solution sounds much easier.

Ooh, you didn’t know of the magic power of WD-40? It can do just about *anything*.

Particularly good at removing sticker residue.

      I had no idea!

Hadn’t thought about WD40 but going to give that a go… Bigger has rediscovered drawing on walls
