Slow Cooker Sunday – Jacket Potatoes (27th May 2012)

If you like your jacket potatoes crispy this one isn’t for you as they are more steamed and I can hardly call it a recipe, it’s more of an idea.

Simply scrub a few baking potatoes, pat them dry, poke with a fork, wrap in foil and place in the slow cooker for 8-10 hours. DO NOT ADD ANY LIQUID. Then top with your favourite fillings (tuna and sweetcorn, beef or veg chilli, prawn cocktail, sour cream and bacon bits).

I came across this idea on last weeks slow cooker Sunday and think it’s brilliant. My hubby loves jacket potatoes but I never think of having them.

Feel free to share some of your own slow cooker recipes; they can be old or new and don’t even have to be your own just one of your favourites from the web. All we ask is that you have tried them yourself.

Thanks for joining in.  I really appreciate the inspiration.

Slow Cooker Sunday – 22nd April 2012

width=Firstly, I want to thank everyone who joined into our first #scsunday, I was absolutely thrilled with the interest.

Remember, it’s all about sharing and getting inspiration from each other. On Monday, I slow cooked Aly’s Lentil Dahl and it was a big hit in our house! What a great way to get kids to eat Lentils.

This weekend, I will be slow cooking; but on an open fire in a farmer’s field in Shropshire possibly in torrential rain. I promise to check out drool over all of your recipe on my return but in my absence please feel to check out all the recipes and ‘like’ a few of them.  It’s a great way to meet some new like-minded people.

Feel free to grab a badge (it’s not obligatory) and join in! Recipes can be old or new and if you don’t have a blog you can always leave your recipe in the comments below.  And it doesn’t have to be in a slow cooker as long as it’s slow cooked!!!

Thanking you in advance and I hope you’re finding it as useful and inspirational as I am.

Monkey Preschool Lunchbox

Available from itunes for 59p

I have to say that I really like this app, if you can ignore the annoying American accent.  I’d seen it recommended on a few websites and now that we’ve had a play with it I’m surprised the Sunday Times didn’t feature it in it’s Top 500 apps.  It’s perfect for Madame who is 3.5.  It has a combination of matching, sorting, colours, number and letter recognition and problem solving!

So overall here is what we thought:
